The Earth Turned to Bring Us Closer

The earth turned to bring us closer,
it turned on itself and within us too,
and finally brought us together in this dream,
just as it was written in the Symposium.
Nights passed, snowfalls and solstices;
time passed in minutes and millenniums.
A cart bound for Nineveh
showed up in Nebraska.
A rooster crowed somewhere far from this world,
before the birth of one of our thousand fathers.
The earth kept on turning with all its music,
bringing us on board;
it did not cease to turn for a moment,
as if so much love, so much that is miraculous
was only an adagio written long ago
in the score of the Symposium.
