The first fish
我捉住的  
I ever caught
第一条鱼,  
would not lie down
不愿安静地  
quiet in the pail
躺在提桶中,  
but flailed and sucked
而是拼命拍打着,大口喘气,  
at the burning
显得  
amazement of the air
惊慌失措,  
and died
在缓慢倾泻的  
in the slow pouring off
彩虹中,  
of rainbows. Later
它死了。后来  
I opened his body and separated
我剖开它的身体,将肉  
the flesh from the bones
和骨头分开,  
and ate him. Now the sea
吃掉了它。现在,海  
is in me: I am the fish, the fish
在我身体里:我是鱼,鱼  
glitters in me; we are
在我里面闪闪发光;我们  
risen, tangled together, certain to fall
正在上升,紧紧缠绕着,将要  
back to the sea. Out of pain,
掉回海中。摆脱痛苦,  
and pain, and more pain
和痛苦,和更多的痛苦,  
we feed this feverish plot, we are nourished
我们喂养这个狂热的阴谋,我们被这个秘密  
by the mystery.
