If matter cannot be destroy'd,

物质既不灭，

The living mind can never die;

人心当不死；

If e'en creative when alloy'd,

心物化为一，

How sure its immortality !

永存定无疑；

Then think that intellectual light,

且论智慧光，

Thou loved'st on earth is burning still,

永远耀人世；

Its lustre purer and more bright,

愈洁愈明亮，

Obscured no more by mortal will.

人意岂能熄。
